Places are granted on a “first-come-first-served” basis.

No more than two groups can take the tour at the same time. There are not guided tours during National Assembly plenary sessions; however, sessions can be viewed from the Great Hall balcony.  Read more about viewing sessions here.

Tours of the National Assembly are free of charge.

The National Assembly's activities take precedence over other events, including tours and visits, which is why we reserve the right to cancel the already booked guided tour even on the day of the visit.

You can find an overview of the available and already booked dates in the Annual Work Programme of the National Assembly.

Guided tours of the parliament are not organised during parliamentary recess, i.e. from 15 July to 1 September and from 20 December to 10 January.

Once the tour has been confirmed, we will forward you the List form, which must be filled in and sent to the following e-mail address at least five days before the tour: obiski@dz-rs.si.

All children under the age of nine on the list require their parents' signature next to their names, agreeing to the visit of the National Assembly.

Privacy Notice

Notice concerning personal data processing issued under Article 13 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Registered tour groups are required to communicate any changes to the Public Relations Office in a timely manner (e-mail: soj@dz-rs.si, telephone: 01 478 9717).

Visitors in groups, entering the National Assembly based on a pre-submitted list, do not need to register individually at the Reception Desk.

Visitors are not allowed to roam freely around the premises.

Using a valid ID, the group leader must register at the Reception Desk and present the previously sent visitor’s list (accompanying persons included), updated on the day of arrival. The group leader ticks the names of all those present and strikes through the names of those absent. By signing the updated list, the group leader guarantees that the list of the visitors fully complies with the group they are accompanying. The signed list is then submitted to a Reception Desk employee.

All National Assembly visitors need to undergo a security (x-ray) check upon entering the building; bags and personal belongings must be put on the conveyor belt, and metal objects removed from the pockets and clothing and put into the plastic container. The security check does not damage cameras and does not affect pacemakers.

The guided tours are conducted by National Assembly employees in Slovenian and English. The tours last around 40 minutes. During the tour, tour guides usually present the history of the parliament building and show the “History of the Slovene Nation since Settlement” mural by Slavko Pengov and the “History of Slovenian Parliamentarism” exhibition, while the Great Hall can be viewed from the balcony. Once on the balcony or in the lobby of the Great Hall, the tour guide will explain the role of the National Assembly.

All visitors are expected to follow the House Rules of the National Assembly.

During guided tours, visitors are allowed to photograph and record in the lobby of the Great Hall and from the balcony of the Great Hall.

Smoking is not allowed in any indoor area of the National Assembly. It is likewise prohibited in front of the main entry to the National Assembly on Šubic Street.

Groups arrange their own meeting with a chosen deputy, informing the Public Relations Office when and where they have arranged to meet them. They can contact the chosen deputy by writing to the deputy’s e-mail address or through the deputy group (please write to the deputy group secretary).

Parking in front of the National Assembly building is not allowed (the Tivoli Parking Lot is a suitable option). Buses may stop in front and opposite the parliament building on Šubic Street only for the time it takes to get on and off the bus.
