The Women Parliamentarians Club (WPC) of the National Assembly represents a form of inter-party association of all female deputies of the National Assembly and serves as a forum for discussing current issues common to all female parliamentarians.
The WPC was established on the initiative of the President of the National Assembly Milan Brglez. At its meeting of 22 June 2017, the WPC adopted its Rules of Procedure. This date is also deemed as the date of establishment of the WPC and the date from which the deadlines set by the WPC Rules of Procedure for the rotation of WPC leadership run. The first WPC leader was a deputy of the then largest parliamentary party (Party of the Modern Centre). The leaders rotate according to the size of deputy groups.
The WPC holds regular monthly meetings (usually on Thursdays in the weeks when the sessions of the National Assembly take place), pays working visits to various parts of Slovenia, and meets with the interested public.
The WPC appoints a contact person for the Women in Parliaments Global Forum (WIP).
